Study Case : Focale Atrial tachycardia

Clinical vignette :

A 61-year-old man
A tachycardia was detected during elbow surgery performed after a mechanical fall; the patient was asymptomatic.
Past medical history: none
Habits: active smoker, 1 pack/day, 42 pack-years; alcohol consumption: 1 bottle of wine/day
Echocardiography: normal

ECG : SVT ?

Carotid sinus massage resulted in a return to sinus rhythm, followed by recurrence of an atrial tachycardia (thus most likely a focal atrial tachycardia).

VAAV respons -> AT

Focal atrial tachycardia originating from the tricuspid annulus.

Termination of the atrial tachycardia after the first ablation lesions.

A CTI ablation was performed as well, since the atrial tachycardia was located on the tricuspid side of the CTI.
