About Dr Synapse
Dr. SYNAPSE was founded by Dr. El Mehdi Channan, a passionate cardiologist and educator committed to improving healthcare through accessible, high-quality medical education and innovative tools. With a multicultural background—born in Casablanca and educated in Brussels—Dr. Channan recognized the need for better healthcare communication, especially for the Dutch-speaking community in Brussels.
Since 2018, Dr. SYNAPSE has been transforming medical learning with over 100 educational YouTube videos covering complex procedures and conditions, making medical knowledge engaging and comprehensible for students, healthcare professionals, and patients alike. Dr. SYNAPSE is not only an educational platform but also a bridge between healthcare providers and patients, offering multilingual resources to break down language barriers in a city as diverse as Brussels.
With a focus on improving bilingualism in healthcare, particularly Dutch-French communication, Dr. SYNAPSE strives to enhance patient care and understanding, offering detailed medical explanations, step-by-step procedure guides, and tools for both professionals and patients. As Dr. Channan continues his specialization in cardiology and rhythmology, the mission of Dr. SYNAPSE remains clear: to inspire and equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and resources to provide better, more inclusive care.

Dr. SYNAPSE’s mission is to spread a passion for medicine among healthcare providers in training—ranging from students to nurses and doctors. We aim to inspire both the current and future generations of healthcare professionals by providing accessible, scientifically-based knowledge enriched with creative approaches that make learning more engaging. Through our videos and medical tools, we strive to make medical knowledge understandable and captivating, allowing healthcare providers to deepen their expertise and passion for their profession.
Moreover, we are committed to promoting bilingualism in healthcare, particularly in Brussels. We actively support healthcare providers in learning Dutch, enhancing their ability to communicate with Dutch-speaking patients and colleagues. Dr. SYNAPSE offers specific tools and training to optimize patient care in both languages, contributing to a bilingual, inclusive, and accessible healthcare system.
